Mahakal’s Grand Sawan Palki Yatra Draws Thousands of Devotees Across Rajnandgaon

Devotees welcomed Lord Chandramouleshwar’s divine procession with prayers, flower showers and chants of “Har Har Mahadev” across Navagaon, Motipur, Tulsipur and Labour Colony.

The grand Sawan Palki Yatra of Lord Mahakal in the Chandramouleshwar form was taken out with immense devotion and enthusiasm across Navagaon, Motipur, Tulsipur and Labour Colony in Rajnandgaon. Organized by Mahakal Sena Rajnandgaon during the holy month of Shravan, the religious procession witnessed participation from thousands of devotees, public representatives and local residents.

The beautifully decorated palanquin carrying Lord Chandramouleshwar began its journey at 2 PM from Ganeshpara in Motipur Ward and passed through Azad Chowk, Navagaon Shiv Temple, Subhash Club, Sheetalapara, the Railway Underbridge, Mamtanagar, Thakur Gulab Singh Marg and Labour Colony before concluding at Tulsipur Sangam Chowk in the evening.

Throughout the route, devotees welcomed the holy procession with flower showers, prayers, bhajans and chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Religious fervour filled the city as people gathered in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal.

Special Welcome at Mayor’s Residence

One of the major attractions of the procession was the special reception organized at the residence of Mayor Madhusudan Yadav in Sheetalapara. Mayor’s wife Karuna Madhusudan Yadav, along with their sons Ribhay Yadav and Shaurya Yadav, performed traditional worship of the divine palanquin by offering garlands, fruits, sweets and prayers.

Several family members and local residents were present during the welcome ceremony, making it one of the most prominent stops of the yatra.

Devotees Across Wards Join Celebrations

Residents of Ganeshpara, Motipur, Mamtanagar, Thakur Gulab Singh Marg, Labour Colony and Tulsipur enthusiastically welcomed the procession.

In Mamtanagar, the reception was led by Ashok Choudhary and Rishidev Choudhary, while Ranvijay Pratap Singh and Vishwendra Pratap Singh welcomed the palanquin along Thakur Gulab Singh Marg.

At Labour Colony, the worship was organized under the leadership of Councillor Santosh Pille, Narendra (Munna) Yadav, Shiv Srivastava and Sameer Srivastava.

The procession concluded at the Shiv Temple premises at Tulsipur Sangam Chowk, where Parash Topendra Verma, Alok Bindal, Pramod Jhanjhade and local residents offered a grand welcome before the ceremonial conclusion.

Several public representatives joined the religious event, including:

  • Councillors Sawan Verma, Kamlesh Bandhe, Manohar Yadav and Sandeep Baghel
  • Local leaders Manish Jain, Shiv Verma, Vijay Lanjewar, Pawan Daga, Raju Daga and many other devotees.

The Mahakal Palki Yatra once again transformed Rajnandgaon into a city immersed in devotion, with families participating in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal during the sacred month of Shravan.
