College Celebrates Commonwealth Games Medalist, Inspires Students with Message of Hard Work and Discipline

Government Digvijay Autonomous Postgraduate College, Rajnandgaon, organized a grand felicitation ceremony to honour its former student Gyaneshwari Yadav, who recently won a silver medal in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
The event was attended by Gyaneshwari, her parents, and her coach Ajay Lohar. The college welcomed the medalist with a marching band, fireworks, and a warm reception.
While conducting the programme, Dr. Shailendra Singh described Gyaneshwari’s Commonwealth silver medal as one of the golden chapters in the history of Digvijay College. Sports Officer Arun Kumar Chaudhary said her remarkable achievement had brought pride not only to the institution but also to the entire state of Chhattisgarh.

College Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta praised Gyaneshwari’s dedication, discipline, and determination, calling her success a source of inspiration for students. She said the athlete’s journey demonstrates that extraordinary achievements are possible through perseverance and unwavering commitment.
Addressing students, Gyaneshwari credited her success to the constant support of her parents, coaches, and teachers. She recalled receiving valuable guidance from faculty members during her college years, which helped shape her career.

Sharing her message with young people, she said that no goal is impossible if one has a dream and the determination to achieve it. She emphasized that hard work, patience, and a positive mindset are the true keys to success.
During an interactive session, faculty members including Dr. Shankarmuni Rai, Dr. Harnam Singh Alreja, Sports Officer Arun Kumar Chaudhary, and Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta asked Gyaneshwari questions about her sporting journey.
Responding to a student’s question about balancing social media and personal life, Gyaneshwari revealed that she has stayed away from social media for the past three years. She said this decision has been one of the major reasons behind her success, allowing her to remain fully focused on her training and goals.
The ceremony concluded with students and faculty members congratulating the Commonwealth medalist and expressing confidence that she would continue to bring laurels to the nation in future international competitions.
