Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao to inaugurate projects including a 2,000-seat auditorium, roads, drains, water pipeline expansion, electrification, community buildings and cremation ground upgrades

The Chhattisgarh government has approved ₹44 crore for various development projects in Rajnandgaon aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities. The foundation stone for the projects will be laid on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 12 noon at Ramakrishna Nagar near Krishnakunj Judge Colony.
The ceremony will be attended by Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker and Rajnandgaon MLA Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration & Development Minister Arun Sao, who will perform the groundbreaking for the projects.
The programme will also be attended by District In-charge Minister Gajendra Yadav, Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey, former MP Abhishek Singh, and other public representatives.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav said that under the Chief Minister’s Nagarotthan Yojana, ₹16 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a 2,000-seat auditorium near Krishnakunj.
Under the 15th Finance Commission Untied Grant, works worth ₹12 crore will be undertaken for the construction of roads, drains and electrification in various wards.

An additional ₹11.57 crore has been sanctioned under the Infrastructure Fund for the construction of roads, drains, community buildings and the upgradation of cremation grounds in different wards.
Under the Chief Minister’s Announcement, ₹1 crore has been allocated for the construction of roads, drains and community buildings in four wards.
Further, under the 15th Finance Commission Tied Grant for the Drinking Water Management Component, ₹3 crore has been sanctioned for water pipeline expansion in various wards.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav appealed to councillors, nominated councillors, public representatives, eminent citizens, journalists and students to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony scheduled for 12 noon on August 9 at Ramakrishna Nagar near Krishnakunj Judge Colony.
