City Kotwali Police recover stolen mobile phone and Jupiter scooter used in the crime

Rajnandgaon Police have solved the robbery reported at RK Nagar Chowk within 24 hours, arresting two accused persons and detaining a minor in accordance with the law.
The police have recovered the stolen Samsung Galaxy mobile phone and the unregistered Jupiter scooter allegedly used in the crime. The two accused have been produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
According to the police, the complainant had lodged a report at City Kotwali Police Station on July 19, stating that he was returning to Camp-1, Bhilai, from Deori in Maharashtra after providing medicines to his mother. When his motorcycle ran out of fuel near RK Nagar Chowk, he began pushing it on foot.
At around 4:15 pm, three youths riding a black scooter allegedly pushed him to the ground and fled after snatching a gold chain weighing approximately half a tola from his neck and a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone from his pocket. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at around ₹54,000.
A case was registered at City Kotwali Police Station against unknown persons under Crime No. 384/2026 under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was launched.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, a special team was constituted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma (IPS) and guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Keertan Rathore (RPS) and City Superintendent of Police Alexander Kiron (RPS). The team worked under the leadership of City Kotwali Police Station in-charge Inspector Upendra Kumar Shah.

During the investigation, CCTV footage from various locations across the city was examined. Based on crucial leads obtained from the footage and information received from an informant, the police detained Surendra Yadav (18), a resident of Lakholi Naka Chowk, Ashok Rice Mill Road, and Abhishek Kumbhare (18), a resident of Bharkapara, Ganj Chowk, Rajnandgaon, along with a minor.
During interrogation, all three reportedly confessed to their involvement in the robbery.
The police recovered the unregistered Jupiter scooter allegedly used in the crime and the stolen Samsung Galaxy mobile phone from the accused. Both accused persons were formally arrested on July 20 and produced before the court on judicial remand, following which they were sent to jail. Necessary action was taken against the minor under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
The police team involved in the successful operation included City Kotwali Police Station in-charge Inspector Upendra Kumar Shah, Sub-Inspector Radheshyam Juri, Head Constable G. Cyril Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Israfil and Sandeep Chauhan, and Constables Prayansh Singh, Lilendra Patel and Prakash Kurre.
