Over 111,770 Children Below Five Years to Receive Polio Vaccine Across the District
447 Vaccination Booths, 894 Teams and Mobile Units Deployed to Ensure No Child Is Left Behind

The Health Department has completed preparations for the district-level Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign, which will be conducted across Rajnandgaon from June 28 to June 30, 2026, with the objective of administering oral polio vaccine to every child below the age of five.
A workshop on the campaign was organized at the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Rajnandgaon, during which an awareness vehicle was flagged off to educate the public about the importance of polio immunization.
According to officials, a total of 111,770 children aged between 0 and 5 years will be covered under the three-day campaign.
Booth-Based Vaccination on First Day
On the first day, June 28, Pulse Polio vaccine will be administered through designated vaccination booths from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The campaign will continue on June 29 and 30, when healthcare workers will conduct door-to-door visits to ensure that every eligible child receives the life-saving vaccine.
Extensive Deployment Across the District
To facilitate the immunization drive, the Health Department has established 447 vaccination booths throughout the district.
A total of 89 supervisors have been assigned to oversee the campaign, while 894 vaccination teams have been constituted to carry out the immunization programme efficiently.

The campaign has been designed to achieve complete coverage of all eligible children across urban and rural areas.
Special Focus on High-Risk Locations
To ensure that no child is missed, transit and mobile vaccination teams have also been deployed at bus stands, railway stations, brick kilns, madrasas and hostels, where children may otherwise remain outside the regular immunization network.
The department has coordinated with Mitanins, Anganwadi workers and various social organizations to strengthen community participation and maximize outreach.
Awareness Campaign Underway
Public awareness activities are being conducted across both urban and rural areas through public announcements and wall-writing campaigns, encouraging parents to bring their children for vaccination.

Health Department Appeals to Parents
The Health Department has appealed to all parents and guardians of children below five years of age to ensure that their children receive the two drops of Pulse Polio vaccine, emphasizing that every eligible child must be immunized to keep the district free from polio.
The workshop was attended by Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Netaram Navratan, District Immunization Officer Dr. B.L. Tulavi, WHO Surveillance Medical Officer Dr. Asim Riaz Khan, Block Medical Officers, District Programme Management officials, NHM representatives, Urban Programme Manager Pooja Meshram, RMNCHA Consultant Sneha Jain, Akhilesh Narayan Singh, development block programme managers, data managers, BETOs and in-charges of all Primary Health Centres.
