Dongargarh Receives Development Projects Worth ₹5.20 Crore; Additional ₹2 Crore Announced for Municipal Growth

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao attended the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony and Buddha Purnima celebration organized at the Maa Bamleshwari Chhirpani Complex Shed in Dongargarh as the chief guest. The event marked both spiritual observance and the launch of several major development initiatives for the city.
The Deputy Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the statues of Lord Gautam Buddha and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and formally inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The gathering collectively recited the sacred chant “Buddham Sharanam Gacchami.”
On the occasion, Shri Arun Sao announced development works worth ₹5 crore 20 lakh for Dongargarh city.

Major Development Projects Launched
Under the 15th Finance Commission, the Deputy Chief Minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan for several infrastructure projects, including:
- Construction of intake well, pump house, and pumping system in the Rauskala area costing ₹1.94 crore.
- Establishment of sanction platform and VT motor installation in the Paniyajob area at a cost of ₹71.62 lakh.
- Installation and upgradation of dry and wet waste management plants under Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban 2.0 costing ₹1.08 crore.
- Bhoomi Pujan of 36 infrastructure works across various wards of Dongargarh Municipal Council under Infrastructure Head 2025-26 with an investment of ₹1.45 crore.
Additionally, Shri Arun Sao announced ₹2 crore for further development of Dongargarh Municipal Council.
Buddha’s Message Still Guides Modern Society
Extending greetings on Buddha Purnima, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that Lord Gautam Buddha’s birth brought a new direction and moral guidance to society.
He said Buddha’s teachings remain universally relevant even today and emphasized that India continues to follow the path shown by Gautam Buddha. Referring to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he noted that both great leaders provided a vision for social equality and justice, which continues to inspire governance and national development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Quoting Dr. Ambedkar, he emphasized that the condition of women reflects the progress of a society. He stressed that both men and women together contribute to family and national development, making women’s participation essential for overall progress.
Government Welfare Schemes Driving Inclusive Growth
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has fulfilled the promises under “Modi Ki Guarantee” within two and a half years through planned implementation of welfare schemes, including:
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Paddy procurement and farmers’ bonus
- Mahtari Vandan Yojana aimed at women’s empowerment
He stated that both rural and urban regions are witnessing rapid development, adding that Dongargarh has already received ₹27.50 crore for development works.
Calling Maa Bamleshwari Temple a major centre of faith attracting devotees from across the country, he assured that the government remains committed to expanding facilities for pilgrims and tourists. He credited Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey for prioritizing development works in Dongargarh.
Infrastructure and Tourism Expansion Highlighted
Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey informed that multiple projects are underway in the Maa Bamleshwari temple premises. He noted:
- Construction of a Weigh Bridge worth ₹39 crore.
- Development of an Amrit Station at a cost of ₹12.5 crore.
- Projects under the PRASAD Scheme worth ₹43 crore, including a cafeteria, meditation centre, solar installations, and Shri Yantra-based tourism attractions.
These initiatives have significantly increased footfall at Pragya Giri and Buddhist pilgrimage destinations.

He further added that a four-lane road connecting Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, and Gondia has been constructed at a cost of ₹180 crore.
Vision for a Clean and Developed Dongargarh
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav stated that the government has ushered in a new phase of urban development in Dongargarh and more projects will be implemented in the coming years.
Municipal Council President Raman Dongre, Buddhist Vihar President Munnalal Nandeshwar, former MLAs Vinod Khandekar and Ramji Bharti, along with several public representatives and community leaders, also addressed the gathering.
The event witnessed the presence of social worker Komal Singh Rajput, newly elected Rajgami Sampada Nyas Chairperson Purnima Sahu, Maa Bamleshwari Temple Trust Chairman Manoj Agrawal, Vice-Chairman Anil Gattani, other trust officials, officers, and a large number of citizens.
