Historic SuShasan Chaupal Held in Gonderas and Nilavaya Villages of Sukma District

Under the Chhattisgarh Government’s SuShasan Tihar 2026 campaign, the reach of development has extended beyond administrative offices to remote forest regions. In a remarkable initiative, the Sukma district administration set a new example of administrative sensitivity as Collector Amit Kumar and Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan personally rode motorcycles across nearly 30 kilometres of rugged and inaccessible terrain to reach the remote villages of Gonderas and Nilavaya on Wednesday.
The administration, through SuShasan Tihar, is delivering 31 individual welfare schemes and 14 community facilities directly to villagers at their doorstep. The visit demonstrated that when governance bridges geographical distance with sensitivity, it strengthens public trust and brings renewed hope for change.
Immediate Grievance Redressal Under Tamarind Tree in Gonderas
In Gonderas village, instead of a formal stage, the Collector and SP interacted directly with villagers while seated on traditional cots under a tamarind tree. During the interaction, villagers complained about malfunctioning solar plates, following which the Collector immediately directed the CREDA department to ensure repairs in all affected households.
Basic infrastructure development also received a major boost as works worth ₹70 lakh, including construction of an Anganwadi centre and Panchayat building, were approved on the spot. Responsibility for execution was entrusted to the Gram Panchayat itself.
During the camp, several services were delivered instantly, including issuance of 17 Kisan Credit Cards, 12 caste certificates, disposal of 11 PM-Kisan cases, distribution of two farmer record books and two Patwari reports along with other essential documents.
Health Support and Bridge Construction Approved in Nilavaya
Upon reaching Nilavaya village, officials organised another Chaupal while sitting among villagers at ground level. Considering the hardships faced during monsoon seasons, when residents are forced to travel an additional 15 kilometres, the Collector immediately approved construction of a culvert over a local stream.
Health services were also prioritised. Four cataract patients were referred to the district hospital, and strict instructions were issued to ensure safe institutional delivery for pregnant women. During the camp, traditional Godbharai ceremonies were performed for two pregnant women, while birth certificates of 22 children were prepared and handed over on the spot.
Focus on Ground-Level Governance
Collector Amit Kumar stated that the government’s objective under the “Niyad Nella Nar” (Your Ideal Village) scheme is to achieve saturation of essential facilities such as electricity, drinking water and healthcare services in every household. He emphasized that appointing local Panchayats as construction agencies would accelerate development work while ensuring transparency.
Village Sarpanch Joga Vanjami described the visit as historic, stating that it was the first time a District Collector had reached their village by motorcycle. He expressed confidence that villagers’ problems would now receive proper attention.
