Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday said that the teachings and philosophy of Kabir continue to guide society and remain profoundly relevant in contemporary times. He was addressing the Akhil Bharatiya Sadguru Kabir Sant Sammelan आयोजित at Kabir Math Dham in Nadia village (Khujji) under Dongargaon block of Rajnandgaon district.

The conference, organised by the Shri Kabir Saheb Math Trust on the occasion of Phalgun Purnima, witnessed the participation of saints and followers from across the country. On the occasion, the Chief Minister approved an annual grant of ₹11 lakh for the organisation of the Sant Sammelan. He also announced the construction of a dome and a mini stadium in Nadia village, along with the development of a grand entrance gate in Rajnandgaon in the name of Kabir Saheb. He assured that a specific budget provision would be made to support the annual event.

Addressing the gathering, Sai highlighted the spiritual and social influence of Kabir’s teachings in Chhattisgarh, noting that even a district in the state—Kabirdham—is named after the saint. He referred to Kabir’s dohas and urged people to walk on the path shown by the Sadguru. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the contribution of tribal philanthropist Mangtu Thakur of the Halba community, who dedicated himself to the Kabir Panth tradition.

Emphasising the state’s development agenda, Sai reiterated that the government remains committed to farmers, women and youth. He stated that over 2.5 million registered farmers have benefitted under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, while more than 7 million women are receiving ₹1,000 per month under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he said 18 lakh houses had been approved, with over 8 lakh already constructed in the state. He also announced that recruitment for 500 teachers would soon be undertaken.

District In-charge Minister Gajendra Yadav underlined the cultural richness of Chhattisgarh and called for strengthening family bonds and participation in satsang. MP Santosh Pandey and Mayor Madhusudan Yadav also addressed the gathering, praising Kabir’s message of equality, harmony and social reform.

The event was attended by several saints, public representatives and senior administrative officials, including the district collector and superintendent of police. A large number of Kabir Panth followers and local residents were present.

The conference not only celebrated spiritual heritage but also underscored the state government’s commitment to cultural preservation and grassroots development in the region.
