In a significant initiative to promote indigenous products and strengthen the Indian economy, the Indian Marketing Development Centre will organise a grand Swadeshi Fair in Rajnandgaon from January 22 to January 28, 2026. The inauguration ceremony will be held on January 22 at 6 pm at the State School Ground.
Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey and Mayor Madhusudan Yadav will inaugurate the fair. The occasion will also be graced by Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra, Swadeshi Jagran Manch state co-convenor Sheela Sharma, and Municipal Corporation President Paras Verma as special guests.
Swadeshi Fair convenor Vinod Dhadda and Welcome Committee Chairman Yogesh Bagdi said that the prestigious fair is eagerly awaited by citizens every year. The event brings together a wide range of Swadeshi products under one roof, ranging from daily-use items like needles to heavy machinery. The fair has become a popular platform for promoting Indian-made goods and encouraging self-reliance.
A variety of competitions will be organised daily, including coconut decoration, rangoli, painting, essay writing, craft competitions, dish decoration, colour-filling, fancy dress, and aarti thali decoration. These activities provide a platform to thousands of talented participants. Additionally, traditional folk dancers and artists from Chhattisgarh will perform every day, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage. Artists, organisers said, feel honoured to perform on the Swadeshi platform.

Chamber of Commerce’s New Initiative
This year’s fair will place special emphasis on local products. In a new initiative aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign, traders associated with the Chamber of Commerce have decided to actively promote locally made goods. As a result, women self-help groups and local producers have been given a dedicated platform at the fair. The Chamber of Commerce is extending full support to raise public awareness about the importance of buying local.
Call to Participate
Senior patrons of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch Narendra Thakur, Vishnu Saw, and President Rajkumar Sharma have appealed to citizens to attend the Swadeshi Fair in large numbers. They emphasised that adopting Swadeshi products is essential to making India a developed nation and ensuring long-term economic prosperity.
The week-long fair is expected to attract large crowds and serve as a vibrant hub of commerce, culture and national self-reliance in the Sanskardhani city.
