Collector reviews Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, health services and land encroachment issues in weekly review meeting

Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav has directed all district officials to maintain courteous behaviour with the general public and ensure sensitive and time-bound resolution of their problems. He issued these instructions while chairing the weekly time-limit review meeting held at the Collectorate.
During the meeting, the Collector stressed the need to expedite hearings and verification of claims and objections received under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He informed that the main Republic Day समारोह will be organised at Digvijay Stadium on January 26, 2026, and instructed all departments to ensure necessary preparations, including tableaux.
Expressing displeasure over delays in disaster management compensation cases, the Collector directed the concerned Tehsildars to dispose of pending cases promptly and provide timely relief to beneficiaries. He clearly stated that farmers and citizens should not face any inconvenience in administrative processes.
The Collector also ordered regular inspections of private hospitals and warned of strict action in cases of negligence or violation of rules. Special emphasis was laid on screening of high-risk pregnant women. He directed officials to accelerate mandatory screenings and ensure proper sonography, medicines and healthcare facilities. Daily health monitoring of such women through mobile communication was also instructed. Free sonography for high-risk pregnant women is being conducted with the support of the Indian Medical Association, CSR initiatives and Jeevandeep Samiti.

Reviewing the implementation of the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the Collector directed officials to speed up execution and promote Surya Sabhas in rural areas. He asked departments to select efficient vendors who can install solar panels quickly so that beneficiaries can get early benefits of the scheme.
He also informed that ALIMCO, Jabalpur is organising assessment camps to provide free assistive devices to senior citizens in Rajnandgaon district and instructed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries at the earliest. Strict action was also ordered against encroachments on government land.
The Collector reviewed cases related to PGN Portal, CM Jansamvad and Collector Jansamvad, directing officials to ensure speedy disposal. In view of the upcoming summer season, he instructed the electricity department to conduct awareness programmes to prevent fire incidents in warehouses and other vulnerable locations. Meetings with commercial establishments in urban areas were also advised to promote fire safety measures.
Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat, Ms Suruchi Singh urged officials to maximise public participation in the Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme and continue awareness activities in rural areas.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Shri C.L. Markandey, Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma and other district officials. All SDMs and Tehsildars joined the meeting through video conferencing.
