The Chhattisgarh government is taking steps to expand employment opportunities for young people by aligning skill development and technical education with the changing requirements of industries. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, the department has initiated partnerships with industrial and training organisations, plans to introduce modern courses and undertaken measures to improve the quality of technical institutions.
At the conclusion of the two-day State-Level Employment Fair 2026, the Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department initiated Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with four organisations to enhance the employability of students and provide training based on industry requirements.

TCS and Adani Group to Support Industry-Oriented Training
Under the collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), students of engineering colleges will receive specialised training. The programme will be provided free of cost under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, helping students gain exposure to modern technologies and practical skills used in industry.
Similarly, the Adani Group will support industry-based training for students of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), polytechnics and engineering colleges. The initiative aims to strengthen technical capabilities and help students access employment opportunities in the industrial sector.
Nandi Foundation to Provide Soft Skills Training
To improve students’ employability and overall personality development, training is being provided in collaboration with the Nandi Foundation. The programme covers soft skills, English communication, interview preparation and personality development.
More than 6,000 students were trained through the organisation last year. This year, students from ITIs, polytechnics and skill development programmes will also receive approximately 48 to 50 hours of training.
In addition, the department is initiating MoU-related efforts with organisations to provide trade-specific skill training at Jungle Safari, creating further opportunities for practical learning across different fields.
Quality Council of India Assesses Polytechnic Institutions
To improve the standard of education and training in the state’s polytechnic colleges, a third-party assessment was conducted through the Quality Council of India (QCI).
The assessment examined academic standards, training arrangements, infrastructure and other essential facilities available at the institutions. The findings and report were released during the concluding ceremony of the employment fair in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Technical Education Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma and other dignitaries.
The assessment report contains recommendations for improving institutional quality and making training systems more effective. Based on these recommendations, an action plan will be prepared for the development and modernisation of polytechnic colleges.

ITIs and Polytechnics to Introduce Modern Technology Courses
The state government is focusing on adapting technical education to the present and future needs of industry. As part of this effort, existing courses in ITIs and polytechnic institutions are being reviewed, with new employment-oriented programmes being introduced in place of outdated or less relevant courses.
The proposed areas include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and other modern technologies. These courses are intended to help students develop practical capabilities and prepare for emerging employment opportunities in a changing industrial environment.
Digital Employment Portal to Evolve into a Skill Market
The department is also working towards developing its digital employment portal into a skill market. The proposed system is intended to bring together information about industry requirements, vacancies across different sectors and young people seeking employment.
Through this platform, candidates will be able to apply online according to their qualifications and skills, while industries and employers will be able to identify and select suitable trained candidates.
The initiative aims to make the employment process simpler, more transparent and more effective.
Focus on Youth Empowerment and Employment
Through partnerships with industries, modern technical courses, improved institutional quality and digital employment services, the Chhattisgarh government aims to strengthen the connection between education, skill development and employment.
The initiatives are intended to help young people acquire relevant technical and practical skills, expand their employment prospects and move towards greater self-reliance and economic empowerment.
