The dream of having a permanent roof over every family’s head continues to take shape under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, supported by the state government’s sensitive initiative ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’. As part of the initiative, long-time tenant families residing within municipal limits are being allotted their own homes at cost-effective rates.
On Thursday, the Municipal Corporation conducted a transparent lottery process at the Nagar Nigam auditorium to allocate homes to eligible beneficiaries. The proceedings were held under the direction of Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav and Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma. Present on the occasion were Mayor-in-Council members Shri Shaiky Bagga, Shri Dileshwar Sahu, Shri Alok Shrotri, and several ward councilors and officials.
A total of 12 beneficiaries received home allotments during the lottery. Previously, 217 families had already been provided with housing, bringing the total number of beneficiaries under the scheme to 229. The newly allotted homes include units under construction in Mohara (870 houses) and Rewadi (340 completed and 258 under construction). Beneficiaries will receive formal allotment letters within 15 working days.

Officials also informed that applicants who were not selected in this round would be considered again through an upcoming lottery process upon completion of necessary payment procedures.
Speaking on the occasion, members of the Mayor’s Council congratulated the beneficiaries and emphasized that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ensuring a pucca house for every family. They also encouraged the beneficiaries to avail benefits of the ‘PM Surya Ghar’ rooftop solar scheme.
The event was attended by CLTC officials Shri Lalit Manjkar, Smt. Sonam Paliya, departmental clerks, and the newly allotted families.
