Cyber Cell and Mohara Police arrest three accused from Durg district; stolen motorcycles linked to Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh police station areas seized

Rajnandgaon Police have busted a motorcycle theft gang by arresting three accused from Durg district and recovering two stolen motorcycles. Following their production before the court, all three accused were sent to judicial custody.
According to the police, Samaru, son of Phulsingh and a resident of Bhaisatra village, had lodged a complaint stating that his Hero Super Splendor motorcycle (Registration No. CG 08 AY 5435) was stolen by unidentified persons from outside his relative’s house in Bijanapur village.
Based on the complaint, Mohara Police Outpost registered Crime No. 401/2026 under Sections 331 and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain and SDOP Dongargarh Kesari Nandan Nayak. A joint team comprising the Cyber Cell and Mohara Police Outpost was formed to investigate the case.

During the investigation, acting on technical inputs from the Cyber Cell and information received from an informer, the police laid a trap near Dhara Bus Stand and detained Arun Sahu (40), a resident of Jewarasirsa (currently residing in Kumhari), Vikram Chandravanshi (38), a resident of Dhaur village under Jamul Police Station, and Jageshwar Sahu (30), a resident of Urla (Bhatapara) under Bhilai-3 Police Station, all from Durg district.
During interrogation, the three accused allegedly confessed to their involvement in the motorcycle thefts.
Based on the disclosure made by Arun Sahu, police recovered the stolen Hero Super Splendor motorcycle. In addition, an HF Deluxe motorcycle (Registration No. CG 08 AF 0852) stolen in Crime No. 227/2026 registered at Dongargarh Police Station was also seized from the accused.
Police said that several other theft cases have been registered against the arrested accused in Rajnandgaon and neighbouring districts. Their criminal records are currently being verified.
The police stated that the successful operation was carried out jointly by the Cyber Cell and Mohara Police Outpost.
