Service Sankalp Campaign preparations reviewed; ₹1 lakh diyas to illuminate key city locations and around 51,000 diyas at Maa Bamleshwari Temple

Collector Jitendra Yadav reviewed the progress of various departmental works and government schemes during the weekly time-limit meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall on Wednesday.
The Collector also reviewed preparations for the Seva Sankalp Campaign, scheduled to be organised across the district from September 17 to October 17, 2026. He directed all nodal officers to ensure timely execution of the responsibilities assigned to them.
One Lakh Diyas to Be Lit Under ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’
Collector Jitendra Yadav said that the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme will be organised at 7 pm on September 17 as part of the Seva Sankalp Campaign.
Under the programme, one lakh diyas will be illuminated at the historic Rani Sagar Talab, Budha Sagar Talab and Sheetla Temple premises in the city.
At the Maa Bamleshwari Temple premises in Dongargarh, around 51,000 diyas will also be lit.
The Collector directed officials to complete security arrangements and other necessary preparations on time for the successful conduct of the programme.
Various activities will also be organised throughout the one-month Seva Sankalp Campaign.
E-Office and Public Grievance Applications Reviewed
The Collector reviewed the progress of effective implementation of the e-Office system across all departments.
He directed officials to ensure that files received through e-Office are examined and disposed of within the prescribed time limit.
He also instructed officials to ensure the early disposal of applications received through Chief Minister Helpline 1076.
Officials were directed to effectively implement priority schemes of the government and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their benefits on time.
The Collector also stressed the need for quality disposal of pending applications and timely relief to applicants.
Revenue Cases Must Be Resolved Within Time
The Collector directed officials to accelerate the disposal of revenue cases and give priority to pending matters.
Revenue officers were instructed to regularly review cases and ensure their quality disposal within the prescribed time limit.
He said there should be no unnecessary delay in revenue matters concerning the general public.
The Collector also directed officials to take continuous action against illegal encroachment on government land and to initiate strict action as per rules wherever encroachment is found.
PM Surya Ghar Scheme to Be Accelerated
The Collector reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and directed officials to promptly examine applications and speed up the installation of solar panels at the homes of eligible beneficiaries.
He instructed officials to regularly organise Surya Ghar Sabhas in wards and Gram Panchayats to create wider public awareness about the scheme.
Banks were also asked to simplify the bank-processing procedure and dispose of applications quickly so that the loan process for beneficiaries can be completed on time.
The Collector said that solar panels have so far been installed at the homes of around 6,000 beneficiaries in the district.
He said beneficiaries are becoming energy producers through the scheme and are also receiving economic benefits through additional power generation.
Officials concerned were directed to accelerate the implementation of the scheme so that the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries can avail themselves of its benefits.
Road Repairs in Rural and Urban Areas to Be Prioritised
The Collector expressed concern over damage to rural roads caused by the movement of large and heavy vehicles seeking to avoid toll tax.
He directed officials to take strict action against such vehicles as per the rules.
He also instructed officials to complete patchwork and repair of damaged and pothole-ridden roads at the earliest.
In view of the upcoming Ganesh Puja and Durga Puja, priority was given to patchwork of roads in urban areas to ensure smooth movement for citizens.
Department-Wise Review of Pending Applications
CEO, District Panchayat, Durga Prasad Adhikari, conducted a department-wise review of applications received through Chief Minister’s Jan Darshan, Chief Minister Helpline, PG Portal and Collector’s Jan Darshan.
He directed all heads of departments to ensure that the applications received are disposed of within the prescribed time limit.
Additional Collector C.L. Markandey, Additional Collector Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Corporation Commissioner G.R. Markam and other district-level officers were present at the meeting.
