Under the ongoing Silver Jubilee Festival and Special Cleanliness Fortnight 2025, the Municipal Corporation is organizing a series of cleanliness and awareness activities under the guidance of Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav and Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma. In this sequence, a major sanitation drive was undertaken at the Mohara Shivnath riverbank and the Punni Mela venue prior to the commencement of the annual fair.

The campaign witnessed the participation of the Municipal Health Department along with enthusiastic residents of Mohara. Volunteers cleaned the mela ground and surrounding temple premises, sweeping and collecting waste materials from the area. Overgrown bushes were removed and plastic waste was collected for proper disposal. Additionally, the river ghats and adjoining banks were thoroughly cleaned to ensure a neat and hygienic environment ahead of the event. The initiative saw active involvement of Mohara Ward Councillor Shri Alok Shroti along with local residents.

Residents expressed that the identity of Mohara is closely linked to the historic Punni Mela, traditionally held on Kartik Purnima and now extended to three days. They appreciated the Municipal Corporation for conducting the cleanliness drive before the fair and expressed satisfaction in being part of the effort. They also pledged to maintain cleanliness throughout the mela duration.
