The real development of any residential colony goes beyond basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity and water. Community participation, unity and social harmony among residents play an equally important role in transforming a neighbourhood into an ideal residential area.

Setting an inspiring example of unity and collective participation, residents of Shivnath Colony Phase-2 and Phase-3, located in Kanchan Bagh, unanimously formed the ‘Shivnath Sadbhavna Samiti’ on Sunday.

A meeting attended by 21 members discussed various issues related to the development of the colony, expansion of basic civic amenities, cleanliness, a green environment, security, health awareness, cultural activities and strengthening social harmony among residents.

Following detailed deliberations, the residents unanimously decided to name the organisation Shivnath Sadbhavna Samiti and constituted a new executive committee for a two-year term.

Ward Councillor Chandrashekhar Lashkare, Ashok Chaubey and Lok Das Sahu were nominated as patrons of the committee. Sanjeev Sharma was elected president, while Anurag Verma and Rohit Sahu were appointed vice-presidents. Kaushal Verma was given the responsibility of secretary, Chhagan Lal Ravke as joint secretary, Anjani Tiwari as treasurer and Yogesh Dubey as media in-charge.

Similarly, Santosh Chandrakar was appointed organisation minister, Govind Sahu office minister, Harish Dewangan cultural in-charge, Lokeshwar Rao joint cultural in-charge, Suresh Ruchandani environment in-charge, Ramkumar Dewangan and Gopal Bajaj joint environment in-charges, Sushil Jaiswal health in-charge, Amarchand Banjare joint health in-charge and Rakesh Thakur legal adviser.

The meeting resolved that the committee would organise regular cleanliness drives, plantation campaigns, environmental conservation initiatives, health camps and cultural and social programmes in the colony. The committee will also play an active role in the development of basic civic facilities and coordinate with the administration to address local issues.

Newly elected president Sanjeev Sharma said the objective of the committee was not merely to create an organisation but to bring every family together and develop Shivnath Colony as an ideal, clean, safe and culturally responsible residential area. He urged all office-bearers and members to work with dedication, transparency and a spirit of service.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all members collectively pledged to give top priority to the overall development of the colony, social harmony and public welfare without any discrimination.

Residents expressed confidence that the committee would emerge as an exemplary model of social service, civic participation and community-led development, inspiring similar initiatives in other residential colonies.

Local citizens believe that if active and dedicated committees are formed in residential areas in the same manner, development work can be accelerated through coordination with the government and administration. Such initiatives can further strengthen mutual cooperation, trust and harmony in society.
