In a significant boost to Chhattisgarh’s power transmission infrastructure, the Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Limited (CSPTCL) has commissioned an additional 320 MVA transformation capacity at the 220/132 kV Litiya-Semaria Substation in Rajnandgaon district.
The expansion is expected to strengthen electricity transmission across Rajnandgaon and Durg while ensuring reliable power supply for the proposed Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC-2.0)/Semiconductor Park at Patewa and the upcoming industrial zone at Bijebhat.
Two 160 MVA Power Transformers Successfully Energised
Managing Director Rajesh Kumar Shukla successfully energised two 160 MVA power transformers at the Litiya-Semaria substation on Monday.

The first transformer was commissioned at 5:22 PM, followed by the second at 5:27 PM, increasing the substation’s total transformation capacity by 320 MVA.
Improved Power Reliability for Consumers and Industries
According to the transmission company, the enhanced capacity will significantly strengthen the regional transmission network and improve load management in line with rising electricity demand.
The upgrade will ensure a more reliable and high-quality electricity supply for:
- Industrial consumers
- Agricultural users
- Domestic households
