Newly appointed Inspector General (IG) of Police, Rajnandgaon Range, Ajay Yadav, formally assumed charge on Monday and outlined his priorities for strengthening policing across the range, with a special focus on law and order, cybercrime prevention, anti-Naxal operations, and the safety of women and children.
Soon after taking charge, IG Yadav chaired a meeting of senior police officers to review the prevailing law and order situation, pending criminal cases, Naxal-related activities, and ongoing special enforcement drives.

Senior Officers Attend Review Meeting
The meeting was attended by:
- Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma
- Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Y.P. Singh
- Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai Superintendent of Police Lakshya Sharma
- Other senior officers from across the Rajnandgaon Range.
Public Safety and Trust Top Priorities
Addressing the officers, IG Ajay Yadav said that ensuring public safety and maintaining citizens’ trust in the police would remain the highest priority.
He instructed officers to strengthen policing at the police station level by ensuring:

- Prompt and sensitive disposal of public complaints.
- Citizen-friendly policing.
- Greater transparency and accountability in police functioning.
Focus on Scientific Investigation and Cyber Crime
The new IG emphasized the use of modern technology and scientific evidence in criminal investigations to improve the quality and speed of investigations.
He directed officers to:
- Expedite investigations into serious crimes.
- Arrest absconding and wanted criminals.
- Intensify action against illegal liquor trade, gambling, betting, and other anti-social activities.
- Strengthen measures to prevent cybercrime and expand public awareness campaigns on digital safety.

Strengthening Peace and Security
IG Yadav also called upon officers to work with a strong team spirit to further strengthen crime control, public safety, and overall security across the Rajnandgaon Range.
During the meeting, he reviewed the crime situation, pending investigations, and special policing initiatives in all districts under the range and issued necessary operational directions.
