Joint Operation by Chikhli Outpost and Cyber Cell Cracks House Theft Case in Bajrangpur Navagaon

In a major breakthrough, a joint team of Chikhli Outpost police and the Cyber Cell arrested an interstate theft accused involved in house burglaries at Bajrangpur Navagaon. The accused had committed thefts in two vacant houses on the same day before fleeing the area.
Theft Reported from Locked Houses
According to police, on April 21, complainant Dhirendra Devangan and his neighbour reported theft incidents after unidentified persons broke the locks of their houses and stole gold and silver ornaments along with cash worth approximately ₹2 lakh.
Considering the seriousness of the case, an investigation team was constituted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma.
Accused Nabbed After Intelligence Input
During the investigation, police acted on a tip-off received from an informer and detained a suspect for questioning. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the theft.
The accused was identified as Gopal Devangan alias Choru (36), who had previously been wanted in several theft cases in Durg district as well as in Maharashtra.
Stolen Property and Vehicles Recovered
Police recovered gold and silver jewellery, cash amount and two motorcycles used in committing the crime from the accused’s possession. The recovery significantly helped police establish his involvement in the burglary cases.
Accused Sent to Judicial Custody
The accused was formally arrested and produced before the court, from where he was sent to judicial remand. Police officials stated that the coordinated efforts of Chikhli Outpost and Cyber Cell teams played a crucial role in solving the case.
Further legal proceedings in the matter are underway.
