Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has suspended Patwari Ramkumar Jangde with immediate effect after a video allegedly showing him accepting cash from an individual went viral on social media. The Collector has also ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter.
Suspension Following Viral Video
According to official information, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue), Dongargarh, submitted a report stating that a video circulating on social media shows Ramkumar Jangde, Patwari of Revenue Circle No. 29 (Gajmarra) and holding additional charge of Revenue Circle No. 28 (Andi), allegedly accepting cash from a person.
The report stated that, at first glance, the act constitutes gross negligence, dereliction of duty, arbitrary conduct, and serious misconduct in the discharge of official responsibilities.

Violation of Conduct Rules
The administration observed that the alleged conduct amounts to a violation of Rule 3 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965, which lays down standards of integrity and conduct for government employees.
Considering the seriousness of the allegations and to ensure a fair and impartial departmental inquiry, the Collector ordered the suspension under Rule 9(1)(a) of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
Headquarters Fixed During Suspension
During the suspension period, Lal Bahadur Nagar Tehsil Office has been designated as the suspended Patwari’s headquarters until further orders.
The district administration stated that departmental proceedings will continue in accordance with the prescribed rules.
