Commissioner Reviews Waste Segregation and Compost Production
At the Rewadih SLRM Centre, Commissioner Markam reviewed the daily segregation of wet and dry waste and examined the compost preparation process. He said that organic compost produced from wet waste would be highly beneficial for parks, gardens, and potted plants during the monsoon season.
He directed officials to create awareness among residents about the benefits of organic compost during door-to-door waste collection so that its usage and sale could be promoted.
Appreciates Creative Recycling Initiative
The Commissioner also appreciated decorative items and artworks prepared from discarded household materials. He instructed officials to prepare a class-wise inventory of used school textbooks collected from households and distribute them to needy students in nearby areas.
Surprise Inspection of Municipal Operations Yard

Commissioner Markam later made a surprise visit to the municipal operations yard, where he interacted with officials from the water supply, electrical, and motor departments. He verified the attendance register and reviewed the deployment schedule of municipal vehicles and water tankers.
He instructed department heads to ensure that all employees report on time, mark their attendance before leaving for field duties, and promptly resolve complaints related to water supply and electricity.
Focus on Monsoon Preparedness
Highlighting the challenges during the rainy season, the Commissioner directed officials to prioritize complaints related to muddy drinking water, pipeline leakages, and non-functional streetlights. He also emphasized that all municipal vehicles should remain in proper working condition to avoid disruption in civic services.

The inspection was attended by In-charge Executive Engineer Pranay Meshram, Assistant Engineer Jyoti Sahu, In-charge Assistant Engineer Garima Verma, In-charge Health Officer Rajesh Mishra, along with officials from the water supply, electricity, and motor departments.
