A tense and dramatic scene unfolded on the highway in Kathwara as Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition and Member of Parliament for Rae Bareli, faced fierce resistance from the BJP during the start of his two-day visit to his constituency.

Sit-in Protest Blocks Convoy

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh, accompanied by his supporters, staged a sit-in protest on the highway, chanting slogans like “Rahul Gandhi go back.” This forced Gandhi’s convoy to come to a halt roughly one kilometer short of its intended destination.

Protesters Demand Apology

The protest stemmed from allegations of abusive remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother during Congress’s “Vote Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar. Singh demanded a public apology from Rahul Gandhi.

Scuffle Ensues with Police

As police attempted to clear the obstruction, a brief scuffle broke out between BJP workers and law enforcement. Order was restored after authorities convinced the protesters to clear the way.

In overall,Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rae Bareli was marked by a highly charged political confrontation, with BJP protests underscoring the heated tensions. Yet, Gandhi proceeded with his planned events, projecting resolve and continuing his outreach in the constituency despite the disruption.
