Focus on Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh today interacted with doctors at the District Hospital to discuss strengthening the basic healthcare infrastructure and deliberated on various issues related to the expansion of health services.

Dr. Raman Singh said that quality healthcare facilities are being provided to the people of the district. He stated that the inauguration of the height extension work of the District Hospital building, constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore 56 lakh 70 thousand, and the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Chief Medical and Health Office building, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore 86 lakh, had been completed to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the district.

He noted that these projects would provide robust infrastructure support for healthcare services and contribute significantly to improving medical facilities.

Dr. Raman Singh said that the District Hospital had long faced waterlogging issues during the rainy season. To address this challenge, upgradation work was undertaken and the hospital premises were elevated by approximately three feet.

He expressed confidence that the enhancement in height would effectively resolve the water accumulation problem during monsoon months.

He further stated that excellent work is being carried out in the healthcare sector through the collective efforts of all stakeholders and the continuous concern shown by the Jeevandeep Committee. He added that the district has a dedicated and committed team of doctors, and positive feedback regarding healthcare services is being received from both urban and rural areas.

According to him, continuous improvement in health indicators and further strengthening of infrastructure remain essential priorities.

Push for Advanced Diagnostic Facilities

To make healthcare services more accessible, modern and effective, Dr. Raman Singh emphasized the need for the availability of CT Scan, Digital X-Ray and Dental X-Ray machines at the District Hospital.

Public Representatives Appreciate Improvements

Member of Parliament Shri Santosh Pandey said that upon entering the District Hospital, one experiences a sense of transformation and modernization. He recalled that the hospital premises used to face severe waterlogging during rainy days, but the plinth upgradation and elevation work have significantly improved the situation.

He stated that people visit the District Hospital with expectations of quality treatment and that the efforts of Dr. Raman Singh have led to notable improvements in medical facilities across the district, reflecting a strong commitment toward public healthcare.

He also highlighted the achievements of the Cancer Screening Suraksha Chakra Campaign and other healthcare initiatives aimed at patient care and disease prevention.

Positive Feedback on Healthcare Services

Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav remarked that the Government District Hospital now resembles a private healthcare facility. He noted that the District Hospital and Government Medical College together are handling more than 1,000 OPD patients, generating positive public feedback.

He further stated that campaigns are being conducted across the district to eliminate malnutrition and urged officials to maximize the utilization of available resources for better outcomes.

Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav informed the gathering that significant progress has been made under the Cancer Screening Suraksha Chakra Campaign and continuous efforts are being undertaken to reduce the maternal mortality rate. He also shared details regarding ongoing healthcare infrastructure projects in the district.

Doctors Present Requirements for Better Patient Care

During the discussion, doctors highlighted several requirements and challenges faced by the District Hospital.

To improve patient care facilities, recommendations were made to the District Magistrate and Chairman of the Jeevandeep Committee for procurement of one Anaesthesia Work Station, one Ceiling OT Light, two Multi-Parameter Monitors, one Vertical Autoclave Machine, development of a new Major Operation Theatre, Burn Unit and Heat Stroke Ward, installation of 12 air conditioners for the Jeevandeep Committee Conference Hall and Main Drug Storage Room, three-seater waiting chairs for pregnant women and attendants in the SNCU and PNC wards of the 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital, and six desktop computers, printers and UPS systems for the smooth implementation of e-office operations.

Ongoing Recruitment and Expansion of Health Services

It was informed during the meeting that a 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital is functioning within the 200-bed District Hospital, where an average of 360 safe deliveries are conducted every month.

Additionally, construction of a new Community Health Centre building for the remote Boratlab region is under process.

Under the joint initiative of the district administration and the health department, a Child Cardiac Health Screening Camp was organized, through which 14 children underwent free heart surgeries.

Various dimensions of expanding and improving healthcare services at the District Hospital were extensively discussed during the meeting.
