Ravi Sinha, Councillor and Chairman of Government Shivnath Science College, has said that a significant and people-friendly decision taken by the Chhattisgarh government under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 will provide major relief to eligible beneficiaries.

He stated that as per the order issued by the Urban Administration and Development Department, Chhattisgarh, families who were in possession of land before August 31, 2024, will now be included under the housing scheme and provided financial assistance for construction of homes.

Terming the decision sensitive and welfare-oriented, Sinha said it brings renewed hope to thousands of poor and needy families who have long cherished the dream of owning a permanent house.

“Eligible beneficiaries who possess required land documents and fulfil government criteria will now be able to avail benefits under PMAY (Urban) 2.0. The government has also simplified procedures and directed local bodies to issue necessary certificates, ensuring that deserving citizens do not face unnecessary hurdles,” he said.

Sinha added that the decision reflects the BJP government’s firm commitment towards poor, deprived and homeless families. He credited Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership for ensuring effective implementation of public welfare schemes across the state.

“This step truly embodies the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. We welcome this commendable decision of the Chhattisgarh government and are confident that thousands of families will soon realise their dream of owning a pucca house,” he remarked.
