In a significant step towards strengthening police–public engagement and reinforcing law and order at the grassroots level, the Rajnandgaon Police have launched the “Mobile Police Station–Dialogue Campaign” across all rural areas of the district. The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma and is aimed at promoting community-based policing through direct dialogue with citizens.

According to police officials, the core objective of the campaign is to enhance trust, communication and cooperation between the police and the general public. Under this initiative, police officers and personnel will visit villages regularly and interact directly with residents to identify local issues and ensure their resolution at the initial stage itself.

Special emphasis will be laid on two-way exchange of information between citizens and the police. The campaign will be implemented village-wise in rural police station areas, while in municipal and municipal corporation limits, it will be conducted ward-wise, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the district.

Key objectives of the campaign include:

  • Early resolution of mutual disputes and conflicts arising in villages.
  • Facilitating dialogue-based reconciliation efforts between conflicting parties.
  • Collection of information related to illegal activities such as gambling, betting and illicit liquor trade.
  • Identification of adolescents aged 14 to 18 years who may be drifting towards criminal activities, and timely intervention through coordination with principals of government schools.
  • Spreading awareness about cyber crimes in rural areas.
  • Promoting adherence to traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
  • Gathering intelligence on itinerant vendors, outsiders, and suspicious youths assembling on village outskirts.

Strict implementation at police station level:
With the beginning of the New Year 2026, newly promoted Additional Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Nayak (earlier CSP) has made it clear that under this campaign, police personnel—from station in-charges to constables—will conduct regular village visits. In particularly sensitive villages, the personal presence of the Station House Officer (SHO) has been made mandatory to ensure effective monitoring, dialogue and swift resolution of issues. For this purpose, a daily roster covering all villages under each police station has been prepared and will be strictly followed.

Rajnandgaon Police believe that the Mobile Police Station–Dialogue Campaign will not only strengthen crime control in rural areas but also significantly reduce the trust deficit between the police and the public. In the long run, this initiative is expected to contribute to a peaceful environment and greater social harmony across the district.
