Jitendra Yadav Reviews Infrastructure, Human Resources and Emergency Services; Calls for Effective Use of Available Resources

Collector Jitendra Yadav inspected the Community Health Centre (CHC) Somni in Rajnandgaon development block on Wednesday and reviewed the healthcare facilities, human resources, buildings and other arrangements available at the centre.
The Collector issued necessary directions to ensure that patients receive better healthcare services and that available resources are utilised effectively.
DG Set to Be Operationalised Immediately
During the inspection, the Collector directed officials to immediately operationalise the DG set at the health centre and ensure its smooth functioning.
He said healthcare services should not be affected in the event of a power outage. Officials were directed to ensure the availability of diesel for the generator, maintain regular records of its operation and usage, and fix accountability for its proper utilisation.
The Collector also directed officials to explore possibilities of connecting essential facilities at the health centre with solar energy.
Better Utilisation of Buildings and Rooms
The Collector directed officials to ensure proper utilisation of the buildings and rooms available at the health centre. Buildings that have remained unused for a long period should be put to better use, he said.
Depending on requirements, such facilities could be utilised for storage, training, meetings and other health-related activities.
He instructed the SDM to convene a Jeevan Deep Committee meeting at the earliest and initiate action on necessary proposals related to the expansion of buildings and healthcare facilities.
Emergency and Blood-Related Facilities Reviewed
The Collector sought information about the primary medical facilities being provided by the health centre in cases of accidents and emergencies. Facilities including dressing services and oxygen availability were reviewed during the inspection.
He also sought information regarding blood availability and the blood bank arrangements. Officials were directed to complete the required training process and work towards developing the facility in the future.
Two Doctors Made Available Through DMF
It was informed during the inspection that the availability of two doctors at the Community Health Centre Somni has been ensured through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) fund.
The Collector directed officials to ensure effective utilisation of not only the available doctors but also other resources at the health centre.
He also inspected the laboratory and sought information about routine diagnostic tests and the facilities currently available.
The Collector said laboratory arrangements should be strengthened so that patients can access as many necessary diagnostic services as possible at the local level.
Records and Patient Data to Be Updated Regularly
The Collector also sought information about patients visiting the health centre and directed the concerned officials to ensure regular maintenance and updating of records and registers.
He stressed that available buildings, rooms and other infrastructure should be utilised effectively to make healthcare services at the centre more efficient.
MLA representative Santosh Agrawal, Zila Panchayat CEO Durga Prasad Adhikari, SDM Gautam Patil, the village Sarpanch and other villagers were present during the inspection.
