Rajnandgaon City District Congress President Jitendra Mudliyar submitted a memorandum to the Collector, addressed to the Governor, opposing alleged political programmes in government schools and colleges. Congress demanded a ban on such events and action against the principals and Janbhagidari Committees concerned.

Rajnandgaon district’s Khaira village has emerged as the country’s first 100% solar-powered village, with rooftop solar systems installed in all 141 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The village now has a total solar power generation capacity of approximately 282 kW. The achievement highlights Collector Jitendra Yadav’s administrative approach, which also focuses on transparent paddy procurement, action against illegal paddy transportation, timely resolution of revenue matters and savings of government funds.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav inspected the Kanchan Bagh water tank after low-pressure water supply complaints from Wards 30, 31 and 32 in Rajnandgaon. Tanker supply has been directed until conditions improve, while a separate rising pipeline is expected to enable evening water supply by January 2027.

ACB arrested Basantpur Police Station head constable Kishore Yadav in Rajnandgaon while allegedly accepting ₹20,000. He was accused of demanding ₹5 lakh to facilitate a settlement in an ₹18 lakh private loan dispute.
