During a joint inspection of Motitalab, Chikhli Talab, and nearby areas, the Mayor directed immediate action to clean the pond premises, remove thorny shrubs, spray disinfectants, and apply lime along the ghats to maintain hygiene. He also emphasized strengthening the electrical and road infrastructure around the ponds to facilitate safe access for devotees.

Mayor Yadav further instructed officials to install protective nets along pond edges to prevent the immersion of puja materials like flowers and leaves directly into the water, thereby maintaining water cleanliness. Commissioner Vishwakarma added that regular sanitation drives will continue daily until the conclusion of the festival, with special attention to ensure that all streetlights remain functional throughout the celebrations.

As per tradition, three days of Chhath Puja rituals will be observed at Motitalab and Chikhli Talab from Saturday through Monday, marking one of the city’s most spiritually vibrant events.

Following the inspection, the Mayor and Commissioner also reviewed the ongoing beautification and infrastructure works at the Mohara Mela venue. The Mayor assessed the progress of developmental works, including entrance gates, access roads, stages, railings, electrification, and sanitation facilities. Commissioner Vishwakarma informed that most key works have been completed, with final touches in progress.

Mayor Yadav instructed that remaining works — such as interlocking, tiling, and painting — be completed promptly. He also directed that the Mela grounds and toilets be thoroughly cleaned and that reliable arrangements for lighting, drinking water, and safety be ensured before the festival begins.
