Assembly Speaker Attends Felicitation Ceremony for Pilgrims of Shri Ramlala Darshan (Ayodhya Dham) Scheme and Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh today attended the felicitation ceremony for pilgrims of the Shri Ramlala Darshan (Ayodhya Dham) Scheme and the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme at Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium in Rajnandgaon.
Pilgrims and devotees who had returned from the holy journey expressed immense joy and enthusiasm, while the auditorium resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”
A Day of Blessings and Spiritual Fulfillment
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raman Singh said that the occasion was a blessed day for all those present.
He remarked that the devotees who had returned after offering prayers at Ayodhya Dham carried with them the blessings of Lord Ram, and it was a privilege to receive their blessings. He expressed hope that Lord Ram’s grace would continue to shower Chhattisgarh with peace, prosperity, and happiness.
Dr. Singh said that Lord Ram is affectionately regarded as the “Bhanja” (nephew) of Chhattisgarh and that Ayodhya Dham remains one of the most sacred centers of faith for millions of devotees. He informed that more than 1,000 devotees from the district had already completed the pilgrimage to Ayodhya Dham.
Transformation of a Long-Cherished Dream
Recalling the earlier Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme, Dr. Singh noted that it had enabled citizens above the age of 60 to undertake religious journeys.
He further stated that the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya had transformed a centuries-old aspiration into reality. The magnificent temple now stands as a symbol of faith and devotion for millions.
During the event, he announced a financial assistance of ₹3,000 from his discretionary fund to every Ramayan Mandali committee. He also announced that all pilgrims would receive framed photographs of Shri Ramlala as a commemorative gift.
Chhattisgarh’s Deep Spiritual and Cultural Roots
Dr. Singh said that Chhattisgarh has a strong connection with spirituality and religious traditions. The state’s culture, values, and social harmony have been deeply influenced by saints and spiritual teachings, including those of Sant Kabir.
He emphasized that the state has been blessed with peace, prosperity, love, and social harmony through the blessings of Lord Ram. He also acknowledged the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in implementing the Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme.
According to him, the state government has made extensive arrangements, including travel facilities, blankets, umbrellas, and other amenities for pilgrims, ensuring a comfortable and memorable journey.
Nearly 6,000 Pilgrims Sent to Ayodhya from Rajnandgaon
Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav informed that under the Shri Ramlala Darshan (Ayodhya Dham) Scheme, a total of 5,950 devotees had been sent to Ayodhya from Rajnandgaon Railway Station.
He said the initiative is being jointly implemented by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, the Government of Chhattisgarh, IRCTC, and the district administration.
The Collector further explained that pilgrims from Durg and Bastar divisions arrive in Rajnandgaon a day before departure, where arrangements for accommodation, healthcare, and meals are made by the district administration with support from the Municipal Corporation and the Social Welfare Department.
Pilgrims Share Memorable Experiences
Several devotees who returned from Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath shared their experiences during the ceremony.
Shri Ramgopal Gauraha described the pilgrimage as unforgettable and said that receiving the blessings of Shri Ramlala brought immense spiritual satisfaction. He also appreciated the quality of food and travel arrangements provided during the journey.
Similarly, Shri Hariharan and Smt. Lalita Vaishnav thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for launching the Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme and expressed hope that its benefits would reach every eligible citizen.
Cultural Performances and Felicitation Ceremony
The event also showcased the achievements of the Shri Ramlala Darshan (Ayodhya Dham) Scheme through presentations and displays.
Devotional songs such as “Ram Siya Ram” and “Ram Se Chal Ke Ram Ko Aaye” filled the auditorium with a spiritual atmosphere. All pilgrims returning from Ayodhya Dham were honored with copies of the Ramcharitmanas, shawls, and coconuts as a mark of respect and appreciation.

Among those present on the occasion were Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogeshdatt Sharma, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, Rajgami Sampada Nyas Chairperson Purnima Sahu, Komal Singh Rajput, Khoobchand Parakh, Ramesh Patel, Santosh Agrawal, Shiv Verma, Rajesh Shyamkar, Divisional Forest Officer Ayush Jain, District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh, Deputy Collector Aniket Sahu, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Vaishali Maradwar, along with public representatives, government officials, beneficiaries, and a large number of citizens.
