Chikhli Police Seize Pistol and Magazine; Cases Already Registered Against Some Accused

Chikhli Police have arrested four youths for allegedly intimidating people by displaying a pistol in the Chikhli area of Rajnandgaon and attempting to establish their dominance in the locality. Police have seized one pistol and a magazine from the accused.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, and they are being produced before the court.
Police Launch Action Against Anti-Social Elements
According to police, an ongoing campaign is being conducted in the district against anti-social elements and habitual offenders under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Keertan Rathore, City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain and Deputy Superintendent of Police Satyaprakash Tiwari.
As part of the campaign, police received information during patrolling on the night of October 1 that a youth was allegedly displaying a pistol and threatening people in the Bada Talab Paar area of Raman Bazaar, Chikhli.
Acting on the information, Chikhli Police immediately cordoned off the area and apprehended the suspected youth.
Questioning Leads Police to Three Associates
The arrested youth was identified as Dhanush Sahu alias Golu, 19, a resident of Raman Bazaar, Chikhli.
During a search, police recovered a black-coloured pistol and magazine from his possession. A case was registered and investigation was initiated.

According to police, during questioning, Dhanush Sahu allegedly disclosed that the pistol had been procured through his associates Sheikh Shahbaz alias Shibbu and Zafar Momin.
During further investigation, the name of Aishwarya Jha alias Ram also emerged. Police said that all four youths were found involved in activities allegedly involving displaying the pistol to intimidate people in the Chikhli area and establish their dominance.
All four were subsequently arrested.
Names of Arrested Accused
- Dhanush Sahu alias Golu (19) – Raman Bazaar, Chikhli, Ward No. 10.
- Sheikh Shahbaz alias Shibbu (28) – Near Overbridge, Stationpara, Ward No. 12.
- Zafar Momin (20) – Near Petrol Pump, Ward No. 10.
- Aishwarya Jha alias Ram (19) – Near Deshmukh Hotel Chowk, Chikhli, Ward No. 5.
Police Say Some Accused Have Previous Cases
According to police, Sheikh Shahbaz alias Shibbu has previously faced several cases under various sections, including those related to assault, threats, the Arms Act and the Excise Act.
Police also said that cases under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have previously been registered against Zafar Momin.
Similarly, records of preventive action have been reported against Aishwarya Jha and Dhanush Sahu, according to police.
Chikhli Police Team Conducts Operation
The operation involved Chikhli Outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Kailash Chandra Marai, Sub-Inspector Sattulal Kanwar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Vinod Verma, PSI Durgesh Dhurandhar, Head Constable Arun Netam, along with Constables Aditya Solanki, Chandrakapur Aayam, Gopal Paikara, Sunil Bairagi, Ranjit Chaurasia, Amit Soni and Rajkumar Banjara, and other Chikhli Outpost personnel.
