The state government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Krishak Unnati Yojana are delivering strong results for farmers, strengthening their income and boosting confidence during the ongoing paddy procurement season. With procurement fixed at 21 quintals per acre at ₹3,100 per quintal, farmers are experiencing direct financial benefits and greater stability.
Farmer Santosh Devangan, a resident of village Bhendikala in Rajnandgaon development block, arrived at the Gathula paddy procurement centre with 42 quintals of paddy. Speaking about his experience, he said he cultivates paddy on 7 acres of farmland. The government’s procurement policy and the timely payment system have ensured that he did not have to borrow money or take loans this year.
He added that the previous year’s procurement payment sufficiently supported his household and farming needs.
Encouraged by the financial stability brought by the scheme, Santosh now plans to adopt new farming technologies. He shared that he intends to install a borewell in his field to enable double-crop cultivation, thereby increasing productivity and income.

Santosh expressed satisfaction with the excellent arrangements at the Gathula procurement centre. Adequate gunny bags were provided on time, and the use of electronic weighing machines ensured a fast and transparent process, saving valuable time for farmers. The centre also offers essential amenities such as drinking water, shade, and resting facilities.
He stated that the transparency, efficiency, and farmer-sensitive approach displayed at procurement centres have strengthened farmers’ trust in the system. Santosh thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai for his sensitivity toward farmers and for introducing policies that ensure timely purchase and support for agricultural enhancement.
