Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and current Speaker of the State Assembly, Raman Singh, has said that progress in development works gives him more happiness than his own health recovery. Dr Singh is currently recuperating in Coimbatore following a slip disc surgery.
On Tuesday, a delegation comprising BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput, Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, Moolchand Bhansali and District Media In-charge Amar Lalwani visited Coimbatore to enquire about his health and extend their wishes for a speedy recovery.
During the cordial meeting, discussions were held on organizational matters and the prevailing political scenario in Rajnandgaon district. However, those present observed that Dr Singh appeared particularly delighted upon learning about the approval of funds for local development projects.
According to party leaders, a sum of ₹10.38 crore has been sanctioned under the infrastructure head for 14 works across rural and urban areas of Rajnandgaon. On being informed of the allocation, Dr Singh reportedly expressed visible satisfaction, noting that the projects address long-pending needs related to basic civic amenities and infrastructure development.
“Development work gives greater happiness than personal health gains,” Dr Singh remarked during the interaction, reiterating his deep commitment to the people of Rajnandgaon. He stated that he remains constantly devoted to the welfare of the district’s residents and feels gratified when public works are successfully sanctioned and implemented.

He assured them that he would soon regain full health and resume active discharge of his responsibilities. He also expressed confidence that development activities in the city and district would continue to gain momentum.
BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput thanked Dr Singh for his continued guidance and leadership, stating that his vision and direction remain a source of inspiration for both the state and district organization. He added that party workers are eagerly awaiting his complete recovery and return to active political engagement.
Dr Singh’s remarks and the update on infrastructure funding have generated positive sentiment among party workers and supporters in the district, who view the approved projects as a significant step toward strengthening civic amenities and accelerating local development.
