Directives Issued to Accelerate PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Ensure Quality Construction and Organise Tree Plantation and Tiranga Yatras

Collector Jitendra Yadav on Thursday reviewed the various development and public welfare activities being undertaken by Gram Panchayat secretaries of Rajnandgaon development block at a meeting held in the Collectorate conference hall.
The Collector reviewed the progress of schemes being implemented at the Panchayat level, construction works, beneficiary-oriented schemes and the status of grievance redressal. He directed officials and Panchayat secretaries to ensure effective implementation of government schemes and maximise their benefits for rural residents.
Yadav instructed all Panchayat secretaries to discharge their responsibilities with seriousness and accountability.
Focus on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
The Collector conducted a special review of the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He said the scheme is important for promoting clean and green energy in rural areas while reducing electricity expenses.
According to the Collector, beneficiaries are gaining financial benefits through savings on electricity bills. More than 4,836 houses in the district have so far been equipped with solar rooftop plants.
Beneficiaries are generating electricity through solar energy, while surplus power is also helping promote economic activities.
Yadav directed all Gram Panchayat secretaries to undertake extensive publicity of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and provide rural residents and eligible beneficiaries with complete information about its benefits.
He called for greater awareness at the Panchayat level so that more families can be brought under the scheme. He also directed officials to ensure that there is no unnecessary delay at any stage of implementation and that work is accelerated according to the prescribed targets.
The Collector further stated that those performing well in the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana would be recognised and honoured.
Tree Plantation and Tiranga Yatras
The Collector directed Gram Panchayats to conduct tree plantation drives across their respective areas.
He instructed Panchayat secretaries to ensure plantation within school premises and pay special attention to the maintenance and protection of the saplings.
He also directed officials to create awareness among villagers about environmental conservation and encourage maximum participation in plantation activities.
As part of upcoming programmes, the Collector also instructed Gram Panchayats to organise Tiranga Yatras at the Panchayat level.
Quality Construction to Remain a Priority
Yadav reviewed the progress of various construction works being undertaken in Gram Panchayats and directed that all projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He made it clear that there would be no compromise on the quality of construction works. Concerned officials and Panchayat secretaries were instructed to regularly monitor construction activities and ensure quality checks.
The Collector warned that strict action would be taken against engineers and secretaries if substandard work or irregularities were found in Gram Panchayat construction projects.
Review of PM Awas Yojana
The Collector also reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
He directed officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the scheme and that houses under construction are completed within the prescribed timeframe.

He also called for necessary assistance to be provided to beneficiaries involved in house construction so that there is no unnecessary delay at any level.
Panchayat Secretaries Asked to Play Active Role
The Collector directed regular review of other government schemes and programmes being implemented at the Panchayat level.
He said ensuring that government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries remains a priority of the administration.
Gram Panchayat secretaries, he said, serve as an important link between the government and citizens in rural areas. He therefore called upon them to play an active role in implementing schemes and address the problems of rural residents with sensitivity.
Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat, Durga Prasad Adhikari, along with other officials and Gram Panchayat secretaries from the district, was present at the meeting.
