The manifesto released by the Bharatiya Janata Party during a press conference addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stirred fresh political momentum in West Bengal. With major promises focusing on women empowerment, employment generation, security reforms, and the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code, the party has projected strong confidence toward achieving a decisive electoral victory in the state.
Political analysts believe that the emphasis on “Modi’s Guarantee” and an extensive welfare-driven agenda indicates BJP’s aggressive push toward a clean sweep in the upcoming elections. Shah asserted that the party delivers on every commitment it makes, stating that Bengal would soon move beyond what he termed the “era of fear and political violence” and embark on a new phase of development.
‘Bengal Development Resolution’ Unveiled
The manifesto has been titled ‘Bengal Vikas Sankalp Patra’ (Bengal Development Resolution). According to Shah, the document represents not merely electoral promises but a continuation of governance commitments fulfilled by the central government since 2014.
He emphasized that the BJP’s governance model, already demonstrated at the national level, would be replicated in West Bengal if the party comes to power. The manifesto outlines an ambitious roadmap covering governance reforms, welfare expansion, infrastructure growth, and economic revival.
Major Focus on Women Empowerment
A significant portion of the manifesto is dedicated to women-centric initiatives. The BJP has proposed a series of welfare schemes aimed at financial independence and social security for women across the state.

Key promises include a monthly financial assistance of ₹3000 for women, completely free travel for women in government buses, and a one-time financial support of ₹21,000 for pregnant women. The party has also pledged 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs and the appointment of women heads at every police station.
Additionally, the manifesto targets the creation of 75 lakh “Lakhpati Didis,” aiming to promote entrepreneurship and financial inclusion among women. Shah underlined that empowering women remains essential for Bengal’s overall progress, describing them as the backbone of the state’s social and economic transformation.
Kolkata Development and Regional Growth Plans
The BJP has also presented an extensive development vision for Kolkata and North Bengal. Among the key proposals is a master plan to transform Kolkata into the cultural capital of India.
Infrastructure promises include major expansion of the Kolkata Metro network, comprehensive development of the Haldia Port, establishment of new industrial townships, and the creation of a sports university in North Bengal. The party has further committed to implementing higher education reforms within six months of forming the government.
Security, Infiltration Control and 100-Day Action Plan
Highlighting law and order as a central electoral issue, the BJP announced a detailed 100-day action plan. The party claims that political violence and organized crime would be eliminated within the first 100 days of governance.
The manifesto also promises decisive action against infiltration by strengthening border management within 45 days. Legal measures ensuring religious freedom and unhindered worship practices have been proposed, alongside modernization of traditional industries such as the jute sector.
The BJP further pledged to fill all vacant government posts and accelerate economic activity through industrial revival and employment expansion.
BJP’s Political Message
During the announcement, Amit Shah criticized the current state administration, alleging that Bengal had become a hub of insecurity and illegal activities. He expressed confidence that voters are now prioritizing development, stability, and security.
Soon after the manifesto’s release, BJP supporters across social media platforms welcomed the document, describing it as a framework based on guarantees rather than promises. Party sources claim that the welfare and development measures outlined in the manifesto have strengthened support among women, youth, farmers, and small traders — factors that could play a decisive role in the upcoming elections.
