Praises Women’s Growing Confidence and Self-Reliance; Encourages Labour Women Beneficiaries at Rajnandgaon Workers’ Conference

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh travelled to Speaker House in an e-rickshaw driven by labour beneficiary Sarita Verma after attending the Workers’ Conference held at Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium in Rajnandgaon.
Sarita Verma, a beneficiary from Naya Dhaba, was seen expressing happiness as the Assembly Speaker boarded her e-rickshaw for the journey.
‘Women Are Becoming Empowered and Self-Reliant’
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Raman Singh said women today are confidently riding bicycles, motorcycles, cars and have also become pilots flying aircraft.
He said women are progressing towards becoming educated, capable, empowered and self-reliant, reflecting the positive changes taking place in society.
The Assembly Speaker also encouraged women workers participating in the conference and appreciated their growing confidence.
During the ride, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Durga Prasad Adhikari and Sumit Upadhyay accompanied him in the e-rickshaw.
Beneficiaries Share Their Experiences
The programme highlighted the impact of various government welfare schemes on the lives of beneficiaries, with several labour women sharing their experiences during the conference.
According to the programme, the event reflected the social awareness and transformation brought about through different public welfare initiatives.
Assembly Speaker Interacts with Another E-Rickshaw Beneficiary
During the conference, Dr Raman Singh also interacted with e-rickshaw beneficiary Usha Sahu.
He enquired about her education and encouraged her to continue her studies after completing Class 10.
The Assembly Speaker also spoke with her husband, Bhavesh Sahu, asking whether he felt concerned about his wife driving an e-rickshaw.
Bhavesh Sahu said he had personally taught his wife to drive the vehicle and continued to encourage her, adding that the initiative would strengthen the family’s financial condition and help increase household savings.
