Additional Collector Inspects Pilgrim Route and Service Camps During Chaitra Navratri in Rajnandgaon

Elaborate Arrangements Ensured for Devotees Heading to Maa Bamleshwari Temple; Pilgrims Praise Facilities

In view of the ongoing Chaitra Navratri festivities, the district administration in Rajnandgaon has intensified efforts to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees undertaking the traditional foot pilgrimage to the revered Maa Bamleshwari Temple.

Acting on the directives of Collector Jitendra Yadav, Additional Collector CL Markandeya conducted an on-ground inspection of the pedestrian route and various service camps set up for pilgrims. During the visit, he interacted with devotees resting at the camps and reviewed the availability of essential facilities.

The official directed concerned departments to ensure robust security arrangements, uninterrupted drinking water supply, sanitation, electricity, and adequate healthcare services along the route. He also reviewed provisions such as rest areas, tea and snacks, meals, and first-aid facilities being offered to pilgrims.

Special attention was given to medical preparedness, with health department staff deployed at service camps to provide immediate assistance. Pilgrims suffering from blisters and fatigue are being provided prompt treatment, including dressing and medication. Instructions were also issued to install barricading at necessary points to ensure crowd management and safety.

During the festival period, multiple service camps have been established along the stretch from Anjora to Dongargarh, catering to the large influx of devotees arriving from distant regions for darshan.

Pilgrims have appreciated the arrangements made by the administration. Jitendra Chandel, a resident of Durg, shared that he has been undertaking the foot pilgrimage with his family for over a decade and praised the improved facilities. He highlighted the availability of timely medical aid, including treatment for foot blisters.

Similarly, Adarsh Kannauje from Raipur noted that service camps, particularly in Sukuldaehan, offered excellent arrangements for rest, food, and healthcare.

The initiative has seen active participation from social workers, voluntary organizations, and local ग्राम पंचायतs, who are jointly contributing to the successful management of the pilgrimage.

Senior officials, including Deputy Collector Abhishek Tiwari, CEO Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon Manish Sahu, CEO Janpad Panchayat Dongargarh Bhagwati Sahu, and health department personnel, were also present during the inspection.

With comprehensive arrangements in place, the district administration continues to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage experience for thousands of devotees during the auspicious Navratri period.
