BJP Leader’s Jibe — “Congress Again Under Rule of Leader’s Sons”: Neglect of the ‘Sons of the Soil’

Rajesh Gupta Agrahari, in-charge of the BJP’s Cultural Cell, has accused the Congress of promoting dynasty politics and favouring the sons of leaders. He said that while selecting the city and district Congress presidents, the party sidelined grassroots workers (the ‘sons of the soil’) and preferred a leader’s son, proving once again that there is no place for ordinary workers in the party.

According to Agrahari, workers who take part in protests and agitations never get the opportunity to hold leadership responsibilities, whereas becoming a leader in Congress is considered the right of only the sons of leaders. He further said that a few days ago, Congress spokesperson Charanjeet Saanpra had claimed that this time the president would be appointed from among the sons of the soil, but this promise has turned out to be hollow.

Drawing a comparison with the BJP, Agrahari said that in the BJP, even an ordinary worker can rise to the position of MLA, MP, Chief Minister and even Prime Minister, while this is not possible in Congress. He claimed that because of this double standard, several senior leaders and spokespersons are leaving the Congress, and the party continues to shrink across the country.
