Postgraduate Hindi First Semester students of Government Digvijay College visited the Muktibodh Museum and Memorial located at the Triveni Literature Campus as part of an academic excursion organised under the guidance of Hindi Department Head Dr. Shankar Muni Rai and led by faculty member Dr. Praveen Kumar Sahu.

During the visit, Dr. Sahu informed students that the Muktibodh Museum stands as Chhattisgarh’s foremost literary pilgrimage, attracting students, researchers, and authors from across the country for study and observation. He highlighted Rajnandgaon’s unique legacy as a centre of rich literary heritage — the land where internationally renowned writer Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, distinguished scholar Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi, and revered poet-scholar Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra taught at Digvijay College and contributed immensely to Indian literature.

The museum preserves and displays memories, works, manuscripts, and personal objects of these three literary legends. Established in 2005 by the district administration, the museum houses Bakshi ji’s writings, children’s literature, and daily-use items; rare photographs depicting Mishra ji’s literary achievements; and several significant belongings of Muktibodh ji.
The students were particularly moved to see Muktibodh’s iconic overcoat, handwritten manuscripts of poems and stories, and various personal items — several of which find mention in his own writings.

As part of the educational visit, students also explored two lions and a crocodile preserved in the Zoology Department of Digvijay College, which were once hunted by the Rajnandgaon princely state. Rare historical photographs preserved by the History Department further introduced students to the city’s rich cultural and literary heritage.

The educational tour included students Chetna Sinha, Janvi, Damini, Karina, Barkha, Jaykumari, Bhojram, Vandana, Pramod, and others.
