CEO Suruchi Singh reviews service camps, community facilities, and essential amenities with focus on pilgrims’ convenience

Ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya Navratri festival, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, inspected the preparations being made for the grand fair at Maa Bamleshwari Dham, Dongargarh. During her visit, she reviewed arrangements for the comfort of pilgrims and devotees, including pedestrian routes, service camps, waiting halls, drinking water, and medical facilities.
Ms. Singh inspected the service camps set up along the pilgrim route from Anjora, Devada, Somni, and Sukuldaihan to Acholi. She directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water, electricity, medicines, and proper sanitation at these camps. She also emphasized regular cleaning of community halls located along the route and ensuring availability of basic amenities for devotees.

During the inspection, Ms. Singh reviewed the under-construction Mataari Sadan in Devada and Sukuldaihan, instructing the authorities to maintain quality standards in construction. She also visited the ongoing construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana houses in Devada and urged their early completion. At Bhanpuri, she reviewed the construction of sheds, community halls, and other preparations along the pilgrim route.
In Musrakala, she inspected works related to fecal sludge management, a public service center building, and a women’s training center. At the nearby village Musrakhurd, she reviewed the Adi Shakti Kutir and multipurpose building. In Kusmi and Maditarai, she directed officials to ensure cleaning of the Adi Shakti Kutir, community toilets, and soak pits. In Belgav, she assessed the arrangements of the Shakti Kutir and the pilgrim waiting hall for the upcoming fair.
Accompanying her during the inspection were Mr. Manish Sahu (CEO, Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon), Mrs. Bhagwati Sahu (CEO, Janpad Panchayat Dongargarh), Mr. Janak Shukla (Taxation Officer), sub-engineers, technical assistants, block coordinators from Swachh Bharat Mission, sarpanches, secretaries, panchayat members, and local villagers.

Special Significance
Dongargarh, located about 40 km from Rajnandgaon district headquarters, is a renowned Shaktipeeth of Chhattisgarh where Maa Bamleshwari Devi is enshrined. Every year, two grand fairs are organized here during Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri, attracting lakhs of devotees, many of whom arrive on foot from distant places.
For this year’s Navratri festival beginning on September 22, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh (former Chief Minister) have issued special directives to the administration to ensure smooth arrangements. With the active participation of Temple Trust Committee President Mr. Manoj Agrawal and the management committee, preparations are in full swing. Both the administration and the temple management are working together to ensure excellent facilities for the devotees.
