Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Celebrations: Schools Host Creative, Cultural and Sports Events

Competitions organized across Rajnandgaon schools under ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign

On the occasion of Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the Women and Child Development Department is conducting a series of cultural, creative, educational, and sports competitions across all government and non-government schools in the district. The programs, organized under the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign, aim to nurture the talent of adolescent girls and provide them with new opportunities for growth.

As part of the celebration, Government High School Dilapahari hosted a Rangoli making and Musical Chair competition, while Government Higher Secondary School Harduva organized a Rangoli competition. At Government High School Janglupur, students showcased their skills in drawing and slogan writing competitions. Similarly, Government High School Hardi hosted drawing and poster-making competitions, and Government Higher Secondary School Dhamansara organized Rangoli competitions.

In addition, Government High School Baghera witnessed multiple events including kabaddi, chair race, poster-making, slogan writing, and drawing competitions. At Government High School Andi, students actively participated in poster-making, slogan writing, drawing, and essay-writing competitions.

At Anganwadi Center No. 1, adolescent girls and rural women displayed their creativity by making attractive handmade toys. Winners of various events were awarded by the department, and all participants were honored for their contributions.

Alongside cultural events, health initiatives were also taken up. With the support of the Health Department, Government High School Janglupur organized blood tests for adolescent girls. A Mega Health Camp was also held at Government High School Baghera, where 188 people underwent blood pressure, diabetes, and hemoglobin tests. On August 25, Government High School Bilhari will host sports competitions and an expert-led nutrition awareness session.

The events witnessed the presence of district panchayat members, janpad representatives, and local public representatives. Principals and teachers from participating schools extended their full support, ensuring the success of the celebrations.

Prominent officials present included Project Officers Mrs. Bimla Sharma, Mrs. Shilpa Tiwari, Mrs. Kiran Shrivastava, and Mrs. Kamalwati Markam; District Mission Coordinator Mr. Kishore Maheshwari; Gender Specialist Mrs. Neelam Sahu; Financial Literacy & Coordination Expert Mr. Pukesh Kumar Verma; and supervisors including Disha Shinde, Anju Prabha Thakur, Mrs. Indu Kapoor, Archana Dhruv, Pooja Dixit, Shabana Rahim, Indu Kurre, Durga Jadon, Apoorva Sarva, Sumi Dewangan, and Swati Borkar, along with a large number of Anganwadi workers and assistants.
