Rajnandgaon (BTI)- The elections for Rajnandgaon’s only municipal corporation and five other urban bodies were successfully conducted on February 11, 2025, without any disruptions, bringing relief to both the administration and the general public.

IAS officer Ms. Jayshree Jain, appointed as the observer for the Urban Body and Three-Tier Panchayat General Elections 2025, along with Collector and District Election Officer Sanjay Agrawal, held a review meeting with candidates and polling agents at the Agricultural Produce Market Complex after the voting.

During the meeting, a detailed analysis was conducted of polling stations where voter turnout in the Urban Body Elections 2025 was

significantly higher or lower compared to previous elections, as well as their sensitivity. The attending candidates and polling agents appreciated the arrangements and congratulated officials on ensuring a smooth and peaceful voting process.

The meeting was attended by Returning Officer Mr. Khemalal Verma and other senior officials. It is noteworthy that the Urban Body Elections 2025 were successfully conducted on February 11. After the voting, EVM machines were securely stored in the strong room set up in the newly constructed warehouse of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee. The counting of votes will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, starting at 9 AM.

On August 13, the Rural East Mandal will organise a motorcycle rally from Tedesra to Surgi, flagged off by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. The following evening, North and South Mandal BJP units will lead a torch rally to raise awareness about the horrors of Partition and expose what the party calls Congress’s responsibility for the tragedy.
