In a major boost for railway passengers in Chhattisgarh, especially pilgrims, Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey has successfully secured approval for direct train services from Rajnandgaon to Haridwar. This development comes as a result of Mr. Pandey’s persistent efforts and active coordination with the Union Railway Minister and the Ministry of Railways.

With this move, two important trains — Samta Express (12807/12808) and Gondwana Express (12409/12410) — will now provide direct access from Rajnandgaon to Haridwar, eliminating the need for passengers to change trains at other junctions. The approval paves the way for easier and more convenient travel to key pilgrimage destinations including the Char Dham circuit.

Speaking on the development, MP Santosh Pandey stated, “Passenger convenience is our top priority. I had appealed to the Railway Minister for these services, and I am grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Railway Minister, and the Railway Ministry for their prompt response.”

Mr. Pandey further emphasized that with the construction of the modern “Amrit Station” and increased halts of important trains at Rajnandgaon, passengers will continue to experience enhanced facilities and smoother journeys.
This long-awaited facility is expected to significantly benefit religious tourists and frequent travelers, while also boosting connectivity for the Rajnandgaon region.
