After Pahalgam Masscare PM Modi's first Addresse to Nation in Mann Ki Baat Barbarika Truth

In the 121st episode of his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound grief over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives on April 22. The attack, one of the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike, targeted tourists in the scenic Baisaran Valley, leaving the nation in shock and mourning.
Speaking with deep emotion, PM Modi began his address by acknowledging the collective anguish felt across India. “Today, as I talk my heart out with you, there is deep agony in my heart. The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam has left every citizen heartbroken,” he said. He highlighted the national outrage, stating, “I can feel that the blood of every Indian is on the boil after seeing the pictures of the terrorist attack.”
The Prime Minister condemned the attack as a desperate act of cowardice by terrorists and their patrons, who, he said, are frustrated by the return of peace and progress in Kashmir. “At a time when peace was returning to Kashmir, schools and colleges were vibrant, democracy was getting strengthened, there was a rise in tourism, and new opportunities were being generated for the youth, the enemies of Jammu and Kashmir and the country did not like this,” Modi remarked. He added, “Terrorists and their masters want Kashmir to be destroyed again, and that is why such a big conspiracy was hatched.”

PM Modi assured the families of the victims that justice would be served, emphasizing, “Nyay milega, nyay milke rahega (Justice will be served, and it will certainly happen).” He issued a stern warning to the perpetrators, stating, “The conspirators and perpetrators of this attack will face the harshest response. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. India’s spirit will never be broken by terrorism.”
Reflecting on the broader fight against terrorism, Modi underscored the unity of the nation as its greatest strength. “In this war against terrorism, the solidarity of 140 crore Indians is our biggest asset,” he said, adding that the entire world stands with India in this battle. He also noted the global condemnation of the attack, with support from leaders in the US, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other nations.
The Pahalgam massacre, which targeted mostly tourists, has reignited tensions between India and Pakistan, with government sources suggesting the attack may be linked to Pakistan’s internal crises and an attempt to destabilize India. The incident has also prompted a crackdown, with the homes of several suspected terrorists demolished and the National Investigation Agency intensifying its probe.
As India grapples with this tragedy, PM Modi’s address aimed to rally national unity and resolve, signaling a firm stance against terrorism while offering solace to a grieving nation.
