“Su-Shasan Tihar Empowers Citizens with a Voice”: Rajnandgaon Collector Calls for Efficient Redressal

Location: Rajnandgaon, India

In a district-level preparatory meeting, Collector Sanjay Agrawal emphasized the transformative nature of Su-Shasan Tihar, describing it as a powerful medium of expression for the common people. He urged all departments to respond to public applications with empathy, efficiency, and quality.

The campaign, running in three phases, will begin with application collection from citizens between April 8 and April 11, 2025, at gram panchayat headquarters and urban ward offices, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Suggestion boxes (Samadhan Petis) will be installed for people to drop their written concerns and grievances freely. Applications can also be submitted via an online portal and CSC centers.

Collector Agrawal stressed that officials must foster a positive environment and behavior while working with citizens. He added that the administration is now reaching people directly and must work with urgency and dedication to resolve issues.

Each application will be digitized, uploaded, and tracked through a unique code. Citizens will be able to check the real-time status of their applications through the portal. Online and offline submissions will be fully documented.

Phase-Wise Implementation:

  • Phase 1 (April 8–11): Application collection.
  • Phase 2 (April–May): Redressal of applications within a month.
  • Phase 3 (May 5–31): Cluster-based Samadhan Shivirs (solution camps) to provide applicants updates and direct resolution.

Applicants will receive SMS alerts with camp details, and wall writing, miking, and banners will be used for widespread awareness. Officials must remain on duty during the designated hours.

Agrawal instructed that senior citizens and other citizens visiting submission centers should be provided with proper seating arrangements. Wall writings and village-wide announcements (munadi) will ensure the rural population is well-informed.

Grievances and demand-related applications will be sorted separately, with the latter processed under the appropriate government schemes and policies. Recommendations can be forwarded with the required documentation.

District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh added that wall writings and flex banners will also be used to educate villagers about the event, and boxes used for collecting applications will be serially numbered for traceability.

Senior officials including Additional Collector C.L. Markandeya, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and SDM Khem Lal Verma were also present at the meeting.
