Drunk Drivers Booked, Seven Missing Children Reunited with Families

Swift police action during the three-day rural fair in Tumdibod maintained law and order, prevented untoward incidents, and reassured visitors through proactive enforcement and public safety measures.

The Rajnandgaon Police demonstrated strong vigilance and effective crowd management during the three-day Lok Mandai and Agriculture Fair held at village Tumdibod. A series of preventive and responsive actions ensured peaceful conduct of the fair, reflecting coordinated policing under senior supervision.

The security arrangements were carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain. The operations were led on ground by Tumdibod Outpost In-charge Inspector Dileep Kumar Patel along with the deployed police team.


Strict Action Against Drunk Driving

To prevent road accidents during the fair, police conducted intensive vehicle checking on the Tumdibod–Dongargarh route and near the fair premises.

During inspection, two car drivers and two motorcycle riders were found driving under heavy alcohol influence. All four vehicles were seized and legal action was initiated under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police officials also conducted awareness interactions with villagers, urging them to avoid drunk driving and ensure road safety during public gatherings.


Seven Missing Children Safely Reunited

Heavy rainfall during the fair created temporary chaos, resulting in seven children getting separated from their families.

Displaying prompt response and coordination, police personnel immediately launched a search operation within the fair area. All seven children were safely traced and reunited with their families, bringing relief and gratitude among parents and visitors.


Youth Arrested Under Arms Act

In another incident, police received information about a youth allegedly roaming inside the fair premises carrying a knife and causing fear among visitors.

Acting swiftly, the police apprehended the accused identified as Jinendra Pal (22), a resident of Tumdibod Ramnagar. A sharp-edged knife measuring 30.4 cm was recovered from his possession.

A case was registered against the accused under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, following which he was sent to judicial remand.
