In a significant step toward making revenue services more accessible, transparent, and citizen-friendly, the district administration has launched an innovative initiative to resolve revenue-related cases directly at the Gram Panchayat level. The move has brought major relief to rural residents by eliminating the need for frequent visits to tehsil offices.

District Collector Jitendra Yadav conducted a surprise inspection of Gram Panchayat Sankara to review the implementation of the initiative. During the visit, he stated that applications related to revenue matters are now being accepted at village panchayats themselves, enabling faster resolution of common issues such as uncontested mutation and uncontested account partition.

Revenue Services Reach Villages

Under the new system, revenue cases that do not involve disputes are being resolved within 15 days at the Gram Panchayat level. The initiative aims to decentralize administrative services and reduce the burden on tehsil offices while ensuring timely delivery of government services to citizens.

Officials have also been directed to spread awareness in villages through public announcements so that more residents can benefit from the facility.

The Collector interacted with farmers present during the inspection and sought feedback regarding the disposal of their applications. Villagers informed him that earlier they had to travel multiple times to tehsil offices even for minor revenue work, but now the same services are available locally, saving both time and expenses.

Over 1,500 Cases Resolved in Six Months

According to district administration data, more than 1,500 revenue cases have been successfully resolved across Gram Panchayats in the last six months under this initiative. The administration has set a clear target of disposing of applications within 15 days of receipt.

Officials believe the initiative is emerging as an effective model of grassroots governance and administrative decentralization.
