Life-Support Devices Camp Organised for Senior Citizens Across Rajnandgaon

Assessment and Identification Drive Held Under District Administration; Beneficiaries to Receive Mobility and Health Support Equipment

Under the guidance of Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav, the Social Welfare Department Rajnandgaon, in association with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), organised large-scale life-support equipment measurement and identification camps for senior citizens across all development blocks of the district.

The principal camp for beneficiaries from Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon and Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation was conducted at Gandhi Sabha Grih, Rajnandgaon. District Panchayat President Smt Kiran Vaishnav attended the programme as chief guest and appreciated the effective implementation of welfare schemes by the Social Welfare Department. She described the assessment camp as a significant relief for elderly citizens and said that such initiatives directly improve the quality of life of senior residents.

Smt Vaishnav also highlighted that the Social Welfare Department has been consistently ensuring better execution of government schemes at the grassroots level. As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, she administered an anti-drug pledge to all those present at the programme.

The event was also addressed by Janpad Panchayat President Smt Pratima Chandrakar, District Panchayat Vice-President Smt Kiran Sahu, and social worker Shri Komal Singh Rajput, who emphasised the importance of community participation in welfare initiatives for senior citizens.

Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Smt Vaishali Mardwar informed that identification and evaluation camps were organised in all development blocks of Rajnandgaon district. She stated that ALIMCO’s technical team assessed eligible senior citizens and will provide assistive and supporting equipment based on individual medical and mobility requirements.

The assistive devices to be distributed include wheelchairs, wheelchair commodes, walkers, folding crutches, tetrapods, walking sticks, hearing aids, cervical collars, spinal supports, LS belts, foot care kits, polymer gel cushions, vanity face supports, stools with commodes, and several other essential support aids.

The programme was attended by public representatives Shri Paras Verma, Shri Shiv Verma, Shri Shaiki Bagga, Shri Arvind Vaid, Shri Harshdev Chaudhary, Shri Ravi Sinha, Shri Pappu Chandrakar, Shri Rohit Chandrakar, Sarpanch Smt Nilima Sahu, Joint Collector Smt Sheetal Bansal, Social Welfare officials Shri Bal Krishna Baghel and Shri Nanak Diwakar, members of ALIMCO’s technical team, along with senior citizens, departmental staff, and a large number of local residents.
