Rajnandgaon marked the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour as the main district-level flag-hoisting ceremony was held in a grand and dignified manner at Digvijay Stadium on Monday.

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh graced the occasion as Chief Guest and formally hoisted the National Flag, followed by an inspection of the parade and salute. The ceremony witnessed the presence of senior administrative and police officials, public representatives, and a large gathering of citizens.

The event featured an impressive parade along with colourful cultural performances by schoolchildren, showcasing India’s unity in diversity. A major highlight of the programme was the felicitation of 78 police officers and personnel for their outstanding, commendable, and dedicated service. Dr Raman Singh presented certificates of appreciation and mementoes to the awardees, acknowledging their professionalism, commitment to duty, and contribution towards maintaining law and order and public safety in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest extended Republic Day greetings to citizens and emphasised the importance of the Constitution, unity, and collective responsibility in nation-building. He lauded the efforts of the district administration and police force for their continuous service to society.

Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon Range, Shri Balaji Rao Somvaar (IPS), Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma (IPS), along with other senior police officers, administrative officials, elected representatives, and prominent citizens were present during the समारोह.

Cyber and Traffic Awareness Campaigns Draw Public Attention

Adding a strong public-awareness dimension to the celebrations, Rajnandgaon Police organised special outreach initiatives on Republic Day. The Cyber Cell deployed a Cyber Awareness Rath, while the Traffic Police rolled out a Traffic Awareness Rath to educate citizens across the city.
