National Voters’ Day Observed in Mohla, Citizens Take Pledge for 100 Per Cent Voting

Young and first-time voters felicitated, BLOs honoured for voter awareness efforts as Collector Tulika Prajapati calls every vote the strength of democracy

The district-level National Voters’ Day programme was organised at the Collectorate auditorium in Mohla in the presence of Collector and District Election Officer Ms Tulika Prajapati. The event aimed to strengthen democratic participation by encouraging citizens, especially young and first-time voters, to exercise their franchise responsibly and impartially.

Additional Collector Mr GR Markam, Additional Collector Mr Mithlesh Donde, SDM Mohla Mr Hemendra Bhuarya, Deputy Collector Mr DR Dhruv, along with officers and employees from various departments, prospective voters, and members of the public were present on the occasion.

During the programme, participants were briefed on the importance of democracy and the need for fair and active participation in elections. Special emphasis was laid on voter awareness, motivating citizens to make informed choices and use their voting rights judiciously. Young and newly enrolled voters were felicitated by presenting them with badges, recognising their entry into the democratic process.

Collector Ms Tulika Prajapati also honoured Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who rendered outstanding services in voter awareness and electoral enrolment by presenting them with certificates of appreciation.

Addressing the gathering, Ms Prajapati said that India is the world’s largest democracy, where citizens play a decisive role in forming governments through their votes. “Every vote is the strength of democracy. Active participation of all citizens is essential to strengthen democratic institutions,” she stated.

She urged all eligible voters to mandatorily exercise their franchise and appealed to youth who are completing 18 years of age to ensure their names are included in the electoral rolls. On the occasion, all present took a collective pledge for 100 per cent voting, reaffirming their commitment to free, fair, and inclusive elections.

The programme concluded with a strong message of civic responsibility, reinforcing the importance of voter participation in shaping the nation’s future.
