Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and State Patron of the Chamber of Commerce, Khubchand Parakh, has formally demanded the establishment of a GST divisional office in Rajnandgaon along with the creation of a new GST circle. He has urged Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Assembly Speaker and local MLA Dr Raman Singh, and State Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary to consider the long-pending demand in the interest of traders and professionals of the region.
In a press statement, Parakh said that setting up a GST divisional office in Rajnandgaon would significantly ease the difficulties faced by local traders, chartered accountants, and advocates. He stated that it would not only improve administrative efficiency but also accelerate official procedures, making the functioning of the GST department more effective.

Highlighting the current challenges, Parakh pointed out that the GST divisional office is presently located in Durg, forcing traders, tax consultants, and legal professionals from Rajnandgaon to travel frequently for official work. With the number of GST-registered entities increasing rapidly in Rajnandgaon, the workload has grown substantially, further strengthening the case for a new GST circle and divisional office in the city.
He emphasized that the creation of a new GST circle in Rajnandgaon would provide much-needed relief to business communities, reduce unnecessary travel, and ensure faster resolution of GST-related matters. Parakh expressed confidence that the state leadership would take a positive decision on the issue, considering Rajnandgaon’s growing commercial activity and administrative needs.
